The Map.

I've always loved maps.

As I started writing Beyond the Red Mountains, I drew a rough sketch of what Kelvin and Elizabeth's world looks like.

Now that Across the Golden Desert is published, and I'm hard at work finishing the third book in the series, I asked my illustrator, Rachel Lopez, to make my sketch a reality.

I'm so pleased with the result.  I hope you are too!

-Greg.

P.S.  Stay tuned!  There's more to this map that will be revealed when the final book is published!

Book Two Released -

Across the Golden Desert

by Greg Johnson

Continuing the story from Beyond the Red Mountains, Luther has ensconced Elizabeth in his fortress to teach her the ways of the Enlightened, but she wonders if he has trapped her there. As she discovers his secrets and the dark corners of his world, she becomes increasingly aware of her power, and vows to escape. Meanwhile, Kelvin refuses to believe that Elizabeth is lost to him forever.

When he learns where she is — Across the Golden Desert — he is compelled to find her and defeat Luther. Kelvin sets out on a journey that pits him against adversaries otherworldly and human. His determination and love for Elizabeth bring Kelvin to the brink of survival just as she is realizing her destiny. Events collide in ways that neither of them imagined as they are guided by forces not of their choosing.

Greg Johnson continues to entertain readers with his imaginative world. His characters are experiencing the same dilemmas we all do while becoming adults - love, jealousy, loyalty, trust, and perseverance. Written with suitable language and appropriate themes for young adults, this follow up to Beyond the Red Mountains fantasy-themed book is set in a time that forces the protagonists to live their lives with very little technology and industry.

“A good story can be a great way to teach young adults the lessons of life, because readers will recognize themes in the story that mirror their own lives,” says Greg Johnson. “How the characters handle the emotions of life as they come of age will help guide readers as they encounter the same situations on their own journey.”

Greg Johnson is available for interviews, and his books are available from all major online booksellers.
